The End of the Republic, Or the Beginning of Its Restoration?

“When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” – Benjamin Franklin

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

You’ve got to be 7 kinds of stupid to be bribed with your own money!

It is remarkable that our Republic has endured as long as it has, given the constant onslaught of tyranny against our natural right to liberty. So far, our republic still stands. But will it continue to survive as we go beyond the abject stupidity of allowing ourselves to be bribed with our own money, and embrace the consummate evil of allowing ourselves to be bribed with our grandchildren’s money?

This is not just the end of the Republic, but the end of morality itself. Having accepted the confiscation of one’s neighbors’ money to feather one’s own nest, I guess it was inevitable that some among us should actively encourage the plunder of their own grandkids’ futures. This turns the primary obligation of parenthood on its head.

If my neighbors would content themselves with their own grandkids’ unrealized potential and leave mine alone, as much as I would chide them for it and pray for their grandkids, I could at least comfort myself that my own grandkids’ future was secure. But, of course, they are not content with the plunder of their own kids’ future earnings, but insist on plundering my kids’ future earnings as well.

In addition, the degree of plunder we are dealing with here will certainly debilitate future generations’ willingness to work and to take on the risk and sacrifice that prosperity demands. As their hard work and sacrifice are betrayed by confiscation of their wealth, they will respond rationally and cease to work where their reward is simply to provide the fruit of their labor for another man’s welfare through the coercive redistributive powers of government.

Do the advocates of these suicidal theories believe the misery, hopelessness, and poverty that have always characterized, and continue to do so, every society to implement them, are coincidental? Can they not make observations and come to conclusions? Has there ever been an instance of a federal republic, dedicated to liberty, ending up with concentration camps, reeducation camps, gulags, and ovens?

A duplicitous Alinskyite manipulator and narcissist who, like Orwell’s Animal Farm pigs, believes that “some animals are more equal than others”

We stand at a crossroads. We have been duped into electing the most embarrassingly inept president in our history. A man whose personal history is devoid of so much as one voice of liberty within his earshot.

A duplicitous Alinskyite manipulator and narcissist who, like Orwell’s Animal Farm pigs, believes that “some animals are more equal than others”, and amongst whose number he of course counts himself. Narcissists can be very convincing. They actually believe in their own superiority, regardless of the near perfect absence of evidence for it.

Let my people go!

reative=373489&creativeASIN=1433210398″ target=”_blank”>We are witnessing an historic election this November. Will you show up? Because that is all it will take. Do not merely witness it from afar – PARTICIPATE! Show up. If we show up in numbers that reflect our passion, we can’t help but win.

We need to find and support candidates who will take our banner not only to Washington, but to their state capitols as well. It is, to say the least, highly unlikely that there will ever be a sufficient number of Senators or Congressmen willing to relinquish their own power in order to restore our nation to its glorious Constitutional vigor.

When the commerce clause was deliberately misinterpreted in order to rid the perpetrators of the confining wisdom of the Constitution, a new paradigm was created. In a manifestation of Lord Acton’s observation, “Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely”, Congress became the Mecca for greedy miscreants.

Once power was concentrated there, by removing the constraints designed by the Founders, it began to draw villains like a decaying corpse draws flies. It is my conviction that those villains will perpetually outnumber the handful of good men and women who occasionally inhabit those environs.

It is my further conviction that the only way to restore our nation to its greatness in Liberty, is for the states to reclaim their rightful place under our Constitution. The states can, and must, force a Constitutional convention under Article V of the Constitution in order to clarify the already (one would think!) clear meaning of the founders and the Constitution they crafted. The commerce clause can’t be so misinterpreted as to negate that article.

And the commerce clause must be a primary, if not the first, subject of such a convention. Inasmuch as it defies all reason to read the commerce cause as giving carte blanche to any legislator who can muster a majority in congress, thereby reducing the entire balance of the Constitution to meaningless drivel, its actual meaning must be publicly elucidated and the Constitution, and the nation, restored.

In the 18th century, “to regulate” included in its meaning “to make regular”, reflecting the root of the word. At the time the Constitution was written, under the Articles of the Confederation states were free to erect protectionist trade barriers between themselves. Consequently you had for example, the state of New Jersey prohibiting some citizens of Pennsylvania from doing business in New Jersey.

This behavior was common throughout the states and was stunting the economic growth of the young nation. That is why congress ended up with the power “to regulate commerce” between the states: in order to free the market place and enrich the entire nation, which they largely succeeded in doing. To take that hallowed principle and use it to tyrannize the people is as unconscionable as it is downright stupid.

This and other transgressions of federal government can only be addressed by our state capitols. Our state elections have taken on a heightened sense of urgency this year. Make your voice heard!!! Find and support patriotic candidates in your state primaries and elections. Campaign for them!

Silence is surrender; and not just your surrender, but your voiceless grandkids’ as well. If you want your and their liberty to be guaranteed, you must fight for it. I hope you can at least get off your butt and get yourself, and as many of your like-minded neighbors as possible, to the polls come November.
