Tom Emmer received the GOP endorsement for governor following two rounds of balloting at the convention Friday. I couldn’t make it to the convention myself, but beginning at noon I was able to follow the action via Twitter and the live video feed via MNGOP.com. Early on, mngop tweeted, “Emmer, Haas, Herwig & Seifert all signed the pledge to abide by the endorsement of the convention.” Unity has been an important message at the convention.

Easter break is over for the legislature and we’re back in session. As always, hold on to your wallets and keep track of your freedoms because the DFL still has control of this place. Spending time with family on Easter Sunday allowed me to reflect again on why I’m running for governor. For me, it really does come down to family. The family I’m from and the family Jacquie and I have built over almost 25 years of marriage.

Going Rogue: The Patriotic Response

This blog was a long time coming, as long as it took my political activism to begin: 58 years. Some may find that shocking but many more, I suspect, can identify. Like many of you, I have been a political eunuch. Compliant, complacent, content. This doesn’t mean I don’t love my country. I do. I love the iconic American commercial lyrics “Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet.” I can recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
