I worked closely with both Tom and Marty. Both are good guys and both are talented legislators. However, the leadership required of our next Governor is about so much more than who is a nice guy or the guy “next in line.” These times demand much more than legislative expertise. They require a leader of strength and conviction – a leader who will think big, make tough decisions, and persuade Minnesotans why Republican principles will lead to prosperity. One candidate fits that mold. It is clearly Tom Emmer.

The Emmer campaign had a great weekend and is on track to reach our peak of delegate support on April 30th at the state convention. With the dust now settled on the congressional district straw polls, Team Emmer has a slight lead in the non-binding vote 881 to 741. A strong showing, but not enough for the 60% needed to endorse.

With five of the eight congressional district conventions behind us, I thought it would be a good time for a campaign update. Four of the five congressional districts have conducted straw polls in the race for governor and I’m happy to report that Tom Emmer has received more votes than any other candidate in the race. Here is the district-by-district breakdown

Easter break is over for the legislature and we’re back in session. As always, hold on to your wallets and keep track of your freedoms because the DFL still has control of this place. Spending time with family on Easter Sunday allowed me to reflect again on why I’m running for governor. For me, it really does come down to family. The family I’m from and the family Jacquie and I have built over almost 25 years of marriage.
The Emmer Campaign Needs Your Help – Tom Emmer for Governor

My friends, for too long we have followed career politicians. These politicians are trained in the art of compromise rather than negotiation. Let me ask you: when you negotiate for your business, do you ever give away part of your business or put your business in a worse position than when you started?

I have good news and bad news for supporters of Tom Emmer for Governor. The good news? It appears your hard work paid off and we caught up to the “juggernaut” that is Marty Seifert in the delegate count. Thanks to the hundreds of Emmer for Governor volunteers that blanketed convention after convention the last several weeks and thanks to the growing list of Republican leaders from around that state that have signed on to our campaign. We still have a lot of work ahead of us to reach the 60% endorsement threshold, but I think we’re going to surprise some people on that first ballot.
